In 2010, Morris Hospital started the EMS system. The hospital gives EMS all the medication and supplies on the rigs free and they bill the patient individually as services are rendered.
They are the Resourse hospital for 4 counties, have 506 EMS providers, Ecolab, Invenergy, and 17 Agencies - Grundy 911, Lisob/Seward, Bracevill, Dwight, Lyondell, Morris Fire, Morris EMS, Mazon, Verona, Kinsmin, Newark Fire, Reddick Fire, Coal City Fire, Dwight EMS, Grand Ridge Fire, Minooka Fire and Troy Fire.
The Morris EMS Academy is in Minooka, IL. They have community events such as: Camp 911, Warrior Dash, and Firefighter Primary Care Cards. The EMS program is funded by Morris Hospital.
The Paramedic Program started in 2010, and since then has had 6 classes. On September 23rd, 2016, the HLC approved a contractual arrangement with JJC and Morris Hospital to offer an Associate of Applied Science in EMS degree (AAS). The program is 11 months long from August to July.
Morris Hospital is a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Care Hospital with a Cath Lab.
