Dr. Patrick Halloran has been at MCHS for 14 years, 11 years as Superintendant, 2 years as Principal, and 1 year as Assistant Principal. Dr. Halloran went to high school in Dwight. He has been teaching for 33 years and has schooling from KankakeeCC, Eastern BA, ISU Master Degree in Teaching. In addition to his working at the school he is a member of the Kiwanis club and taught a course at ISU this year for the first time as Adjunct Professor teaching others who want to become Principals and Superintendants. Dr. Halloran has been married for 30 years.
Since being at MCHS, the school has recieved

* Ranked 69th out of 585 based on SAT Scores in Illinois

Extra Curcicular at MCHS is top of hte line for Speech, Band, Sports and Arts. STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering Progam and at GAVC starting an engineering program for Operating, Electronic and Engineering. For these programs, Dr. Halloran is trying to get Corporate Partners such as Lyondell.
With that, Dr. Halloran is trying to contain the tax. Evidence Based Funding Model - from the state will add $250-280,000.00 to the MCHS budget. They are getting a little money from the state - last year they received 2 payments.
Structurally, the buildings from the 60's, 70's, and 80's wings will need major repaires or to be replaced in the next 10-15 years. Last year they had a 30 year Facility Study. With the current track condition the school is unable to have track meets. The track is not safe or wide enough to handle the events.
Enrollment projections are on a downword scale. The previous years enrollement was around 960 and is down to 900 and projecting to be 885 in the next couple years. Part of this is due to the increase in homeschooling. Home Schooling is more prevalent than in the past years. The students must have their work graded weekly and they will be able to participate in extra-curricular activities at an accredited H.S. progrem.

This June of 2018 will be Dr. Halloran's last days at MCHS and we want to wish him the best with the furture. To replace him they have hired Joe Waldron from Texas. Mr. Waldron went to school at Olivet and is looking foward to be moving back here in July.
