“Celebrating 101 Years”

  January 23rd, 2018

Julie Buck

Julie Buck is the Executive Director of the Morris Community Foundation.
The Community Foundation of Grundy County has been "impriving the quality of life in Grundy County through leadership and philanthropy" since 1999.

Annually the net worth of Grundy County is 6.3 Billion dollars.  Although, a large amount of this worth will leave Grundy County due to the heers not living here.  If everyone donated only 5% to endowment we would have 8.6 Million annually here for local outreach.

    How the Foundation works:

It starts with donors, whether its individuals, corperations, private foundations or nonprofit organizations with a passion for the Arts, Education, Agriculture, Community Wellness or Faith.  Their gifts ( cash, securities, real estate, retirement funds, insurance or bequests) are used to create funds to distribute to the charitable passion of their choice through scholarships for students or grants to charitable organizations.  The types of donor desgined funds are Donor Advised, Donor Designated, Agency, Scholarship, or Field of Interest all of which are goverened by an agreement between CFGC and the Donor.

CFGC gives "The ability for an individual of average financial means to become a Philanthropist."

Julie Buck thank you very much for coming today and passing this important information on to us to share with the community and taking time out of your busy day!
